This study aims to determine the thematic learning difficulties both in the preparation , implementation , and evaluation of thematic learning in elementary school . The study was conducted in Bantul Yogyakarta Elementary School in the school year 2009/2010 . Sampling was stratified random sampling method . The samples taken are 2 SD for each district . The technique of collecting data using questionnaires and observation . The analysis was done by calculating each item on which has been shown by the graph are analyzed one by one and is associated with a theoretical basis . The results showed that in the preparation of thematic learning difficulties in determining teachers' learning experiences , the core activities of planning , linking SK and KD in the subject , sets the theme , identifying KD of several subjects that fit with the theme , developing materials that include illustrations , utilizing information technology , write lesson plans with a form of writing that is proportional , and use illustrations in network development theme . The difficulty in the evaluation is to provide an answer key in the development of the instrument adjust competence in the assessment , provide an opportunity to conduct self-reflection orally and in.writing .
