NILAI KARAKTER CERITA DAERAH PULAU SUMATERA “KUMPULAN CERITA RAKYAT 33 PROVINSIâ€

Background This research is with the many foreign cultures that enter and can influence Indonesian society, then with this, it can have a positive or negative impact on Indonesian society. The purpose of this research is to find out what Character Values are contained in a collection of regional stories, especially on the island of Sumatra in the book "Collection of folklore 33 Province of Angelia Yustitia". In this study, researchers used a qualitative descriptive method. As a data collection tool from the source studied, researchers used a data card. The qualitative data collection technique in this study was by means of the note-taking method. The results carried out by way of describing found the values of Characters in the Book of Collection of Folklore 33 Provinces of Yustitia Angelia. Character values are derived from the sentences in each story from the island of Sumatra in the book. Based on the story that has been analyzed, the character values found are 88 character values. With the character values that often appear are Religious a number of 12 findings. Character values that do not appear at all are Democratic, nationalism and reading. Ancient folklore originating from the island of Sumatra in particular can be used as a reinforcement of children's character values. Because of all these stories contain a lot of positive character values in them that can be used in learning.
