Abstract

The focus of the research is the role of the school principal in the implementation of School-Based Management in SDs in the Kresna Cluster of Education Korwil Jati District, Kudus Regency. The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze: 1) Implementation of School Based Management, 2) Role of the Principal in Implementation of School Based Management, 3) Functions of the Principal in School Based Management, 4) Constraints in the Implementation of School Based Management. This type of research is qualitative with a case study design, data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and interviews. Sources of data are school principals in the Kresna Cluster, teachers, education staff, and students. Checking the validity of the data is done by triangulation, namely comparing observations with documents and interview results. The results of the study were: 1) Elementary Schools in the Kresna Cluster Korwil Jati Kecanatan Education in Kudus Regency focused on the Implementation of School-Based Management through planning and evaluation input, curriculum, finance, facilities, manpower, school and community relations, school climate through the learning process and achievement students, 2) The role of the principal in school-based implementation regulates the school according to procedures and involves stakeholders in the school so that there is school independence, 3) The function of the principal in implementing School-Based Management is committed to the progress of the school, all parties work according to their roles and are responsible for what was done, 4) Obstacles faced included budget problems because apart from there were several students who could not afford it there were also several programs that could not be budgeted for from BOS funds so there were several school programs that did not run well, meeting the needs of staff, and teachers.
